Welcome to this revised and updated version of the Ontario Genealogical Society Cemetery Collection, which now includes a personal name index. This index was begun in 2003 and is in the early stages of development.  

The Ontario Cemetery Ancestor Index includes names taken from transcriptions of the monumental inscriptions, cemetery records, and other sources that have been identified by Ontario Genealogical Society members and members of other historical groups.  Although most cemeteries in Ontario have been transcribed, the name indexes will be added to the collection periodically.  Check here for the progress of the Ancestor Index.

The Ontario Cemetery Locator is a directory to cemeteries in Ontario and may be used to locate cemetery transcriptions in pamphlet, book or microform format. Transcriptions do not exist for all cemeteries; however volunteers have endeavoured to identify all existing, non-existent and abandoned cemeteries. Where available, transcriptions may be viewed at the OGS Provincial Library in the Canadiana Room at the North York Central Branch of the Toronto Public Library, or may be purchased from the local branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society.
